Donating Material and Support

The Mineral Point Library Archives collects documents and records that tell the story of Mineral Point and the immediate area. These materials include personal papers, letters and diaries as well as the records of businesses and organizations such as board minutes, financial records and correspondence files. The MPLA also collects maps, architecture and engineering drawings, scrapbooks, published and unpublished family histories, school records, photographs and other media.

Currently the MPLA collection policy encompasses the city and town of Mineral Point and the boundaries of the Unified School District. Click here for the Mineral Point Library Archives Collection Policy.

If you have materials that tell the story of Mineral Point that you would like to have saved and made available to future generations, please contact the Archives. All donations will be carefully preserved, organized and made available to researchers. All donations must be accompanied by a Deed of Gift. We hope you will think of the Mineral Point Library Archives before you discard any family or business papers. Everyone and every day is part of our history.

Saving the past for use in the future also costs money. To support the work of the Mineral Point Library Archives, please consider a tax deductible donation. Your support will help to provide the necessary supplies and equipment needed to save these one-of-a-kind memories.  Checks may be made payable and mailed to the Mineral Point Public Library with MPLA on the memo line.  The Library's address is 137 High Street, Suite 2, Mineral Point, WI 53565.  Thank you for your support in telling the story of Mineral Point's rich history.
